When cutting, what would cause the laser to cut better (i.e. have more power) on one side of the bed vs the other?

This can be caused by having a bed that's unlevel, causing parts of the bed to not be at the height of the focal point.  It can also be caused by mirrors that are out of alignment, causing the beam to not be centered at some points.
